Care & Cleaning tips

PrincessRing fine jewelry is made to be worn and cherished for a lifetime by you and your posterity.
To retain the highest quality and integrity of your jewelry it is essential you provide the proper care and maintenance necessary to ensure its longevity.  Just like Diamonds and Moissanite, Russian Cz's will get dirty with the day to day wear. To maintain the original luster and brilliance  PrincessRing offers the following guidelines and tips for the care and cleaning of your jewelry.

Facts
Jewelry gets dirty from such items as: dust, fingerprints containing the natural oils from your skin, hairspray, perfume, lotions, powders, makeup and soap can all leave a thin sparkle-dimming film on top and underneath the stones reducing its clarity and beauty.

Hint
This is why it is so important to clean your jewelry on a regular basis to retain maximum color and fire.

Avoid

  • Household Chemicals- Always remove your rings or wear gloves before using any product containing Chlorine or Bleach.   Chlorine and Bleach even from swimming pools and hot tubs (especially at high temperatures) cause all gold jewelry to breakdown, corroding its alloys and leaving jewelry irreparably damaged. See this article from one of America’s largest gold refiners. (Hoover & Strong article.)
  • Remove Jewelry while doing rough work such as yard work, house work, dragon slaying, and gym workouts.
  • Check your prongs and setting every few months, almost all fine jewelry stores does inspection and steaming for free.

4 step cleaning
Preparing the magical potion, you already have what you need to clean your jewelry.
Water (preferably warm)
Mild liquid dishwashing detergent (Ivory, Palmolive and other mild detergents work just fine.)
Soft used Tooth Brush. (No toothpaste because it’s abrasive and leaves a thin film.)
A little mix of Ammonia can also be used if available. ( remember, No Bleach or Chlorine.)

Soft brisle

Mix 4 parts water (preferably warm) 1 part detergent (mild) and a little ammonia             (if available) remember to close drain to avoid losing your jewelry.

  • Soak your Princess Jewelry in the solution for 15 minutes.
  • Use a soft toothbrush and remove all dirt and oils especially on top, around and underneath stones.
  • Rinse well. (repeat 1-3 if necessary)
  • Dry with a lint free cloth or let dry on a tissue paper.

If you already have a jewelry cleaning solution the ingredients are basically the same, but avoid mixing gold and silver in the same solution.

In between cleanups, polish with a chamois cloth or cotton towel.
